In response to changes in the way that donors give money for BLF research, the British Lung Foundation has set up a Working Group to review the structure and function of the BLF Scientific Committee, and the mechanisms it employs to call for and award research grants. The aim is to devise a new system that is fairer, less labour intensive for applicants and evaluators alike, and results in a lower proportion of unsuccessful applicants.
