Liz Dawn became a British Lung Foundation celebrity supporter in January 2009. Having a lung condition called Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Liz understands exactly what it is like to live with a lung condition. This was why she decided to support the BLF to help raise awareness.
Liz fronted the British Lung Foundation’s Breathe Easy Week campaign by taking part in a series of high profile media interviews for both broadcast and print media including an exclusive interview in the Daily Mail, appearances on GMTV, This Morning and lunchtime chat show, Loose Women. Liz was also featured on posters, recorded an online video about her experiences and took part in an interview for the British Lung Foundation’s magazine called Breathing Space. In total the campaign achieved over 500 pieces of media coverage and was the BLF’s most successful campaign to date.
Liz says: “One wonderful aspect of being famous is that I can help charities like the British Lung Foundation and I get so much enjoyment from it because I believe I have been very lucky in my life and that’s why I like to make sure I give something back”.
Liz has a dedicated account manager at the BLF. The Account Manager organises all her travel, hotel arrangements and ensures she is fully briefed for any interviews she takes part in her role as BLF ambassador.
