Dame Judi Dench will be talking about our Missing Millions Appeal on Radio 4.

“We're searching the country to find people with COPD – which stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It’s actually an umbrella term for emphysema and chronic bronchitis– and it ruins lives. But you probably haven’t heard of it. You see, hardly anyone knows about it.

It’s estimated that 3.7 million people in the UK have COPD. But only around 900,000 have been correctly diagnosed.

That means that, across the country, there are a staggering 2.8 million people who aren’t even aware that their lives are in danger. It kills more people in the UK than bowel cancer, breast cancer or prostate cancer.

Did you know that every single hour 250 people worldwide die of it, and that by 2020 it is predicted to be the world’s third biggest killer?

Will you give a gift of £12.50? It could help pay for a lifesaving lung function test. Which will be a crucial first-step in helping us find the missing millions suffering from COPD.

Please, if you can, help us raise the funds we so desperately need to pay for lung tests in the months ahead. Together, we can reach out and find the missing millions who don’t even know they’re suffering from COPD. With your help, we really can achieve so much."

Please donate today and together we can make a difference to people's lives - thank you.
