Tele-health 'should complement rather than substitute face to face care'
6 December 2011
Commenting on the ‘tele-health’ drive announced by the Government yesterday, Miranda Watson, Director of Communications at the British Lung Foundation said:
“A programme like this could be beneficial for people living with chronic illnesses such as COPD, and could help to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions, if rolled out appropriately. However, it should be part of a broader care package, and should complement rather than substitute face to face care.”
