David Cameron answers question on smoking in cars

2 November 2011

Today Alex Cunningham MP for Stockton North tabled a Prime Minister’s Question in the Commons asking David Cameron if he agrees with legislating against smoking in cars when children are present. The Prime Minister responded by saying that he would have a ‘serious think’ about the issue and agreed that the public smoking ban has worked.

Commenting on David Cameron’s response, Miranda Watson, Director of Communications said:
“The Prime Ministers' commitment today to consider protecting children from cigarette smoke in cars is a significant step for every child in England. It reflects the growing consensus that serious action needs to be taken on this major health issue facing children today.”
