Communications Officer Scotland and NI

Location: Glasgow

Salary £22,000-£24,000

The British Lung Foundation is the only UK charity working for people with lung problems through research, education, support and care. Over the last 25 years we have developed programmes to support improvements in all areas of respiratory medicine, from funding world-class, independent research to pioneering end-of-life care programmes for people with lung disease.
We have a vacancy in our Glasgow office for a Communications Officer to raise the profile of the British Lung Foundation (BLF) and lung disease and deliver high impact campaigns that improve the lives of people with lung conditions.

Working closely with the BLF Communications team you will be responsible for producing press communications, promoting breathe easy groups, and identifying issues that affect people with lung disease for promotion of information for health and social care professionals within Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a busy press office. You will be assertive, creative and a good self- motivator with a great track record with the broadcast and print media.
You will possess strong writing, communication and organizational skills and an ability to plan and develop successful PR campaigns.
