Lung disease is one of the most significant public health issues in Scotland and Northern Ireland. While one in seven people across the UK are affected by a respiratory (lung) condition, this rises to one in five in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our aims are simple. We support and advise all people who are affected by, or have an interest in, lung disease – patients, carers, family members and health professionals. And we’re also here to help protect the lung health of future generations through our education programmes and campaigning to protect children and young people from the effects of second hand smoke.
Lung health is a precious gift, vital to our daily lives but all too easily damaged. We’ll help to look after you and your lungs every step of the way. And as the only UK charity devoted solely to lung health we can offer you a unique level of support, advice and expertise built up over 25 years of working in the field.
You need your lungs every step of the way through life. It’s never too early to start looking after them (even before you’re born!) and never too late to take better care of them.
